Is assembly required?
The Universal Chair Cane requires assembly and installation on the chair. For detailed instructions on how to assemble and install the chair cane, download the assembly instructions below or visit the product’s support page.
What types of chairs work with the chair cane?
The Chair Cane is compatible with any four-legged couch, sofa, chair, lift chair or recliner. The front and rear legs of the chair must sit on top of the base pads of the Chair Cane to hold it in place. The Chair Cane adjusts in depth to fit chair leg depths of 22″-34.5″ and is not intended for free-standing use. If your chair does not have four legs, has a round base, or has legs with depths shorter than 22″ and deeper than 34.5″, the Chair Cane will not work with your chair. Before purchasing the Chair Cane, we recommend measuring the depth between the front and rear legs of the intended chair to make sure they fit in the 22″-34.5″ compatibility range.
Can I use the chair cane without a chair?
No, the Chair Cane is not intended for free-standing use. It must be installed underneath a couch or chair to be held in place.
Do the chair feet sit on the outside or inside the base pads?
The base pads of the Chair Cane can be placed on either the outside or inside base pads depending on your personal preference. Placing the chair feet on the inside or outside base pad will change the location of the handle.
Can I add a tray table to the Chair Cane?
There is not an accessory tray table for the Chair Cane.. If you are interested in a tray table, upgrade to the Stander Assist-A-Tray. The Assist-A-Tray features a similar support handle but also comes with a swiveling tray.
What is the difference between the Universal Chair Cane and the CouchCane?
The Universal Chair Cane fits smaller furniture with feet 22-34.5" apart and features a handle adjustable from 32.5 to 36" tall. The CouchCane accommodates larger furniture with a base adjustable from 20-36" and a handle height adjustable from 34"-40". The CouchCane also includes a 4-pocket saddle bag for extra storage. Both support up to 250 lbs, providing a safe and sturdy solution for sitting or standing. Choose based on your furniture size and added storage needs.
